HYDERABAD: Four including an engineering student were held on charges of setting ablaze four vehicles in separate incidents in Attapur by Rajendranagar police.  The accused persons identified as V Veeresh (22), an auto driver, M Shiva Kumar (20), a car driver, P Jithin Sai Kumar (19), an engineering student and M Ramesh (20), an auto driver.  Veeresh and Ramesh were close friends. The duo used to go together for work. Few months ago, Veeresh had taken Ramesh’s phone as he had to talk to his sister regarding some personal issue. As the number was not deleted, Ramesh saved it and made phone calls to his friend’s sister and teased her.

On learning this, Veeresh got angry and the duo indulged in a quarrel, which however did not help them to resolve the issue. When Veeresh was desperate to take revenge on Ramesh, his friends Shiva and Jithin suggested to damage Ramesh’s auto. Later, they set ablaze Ramesh’s auto on December 25, 2016.

“Veeresh and Shiva purchased one and half litre petrol and using it they burnt Ramesh’s auto, which was coincidentally seen by another auto driver Dhannu. Doubting that he will reveal the incident to the police, they burnt two more autos, which apparently were belonging to another person.

The accused trio also burnt a car belonging to their neighbour over a petty issue,” said Rajendranagar police. Meanwhile, police said that Ramesh had burnt accused Jathin’s bike on March 23 after finding that he along with friends burnt his auto.

Special teams were formed to take up the investigation. The four accused have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody on Saturday, said the police.
