Taking strong exception to the show cause notice served on him by the TPCC Disciplinary Action Committee on Friday, party MLC and former MP K Rajgopal Reddy came down heavily on the party’s State leadership for the worsening State of affairs in the run-up to the polls. Addressing a news conference at his residence, he alleged that party posts and tickets were up for sale in Gandhi Bhavan. He alleged that the leaders were out to spoil the electoral prospects of the party by fielding candidates who will of no match to the nominees of rival parties.

He said his outburst against the party leaders was only an expression of anguish and concern being voiced by the rank and file of the party over the manner in which leaders like him were being sidelined and ignored. Claiming himself to be a disciplined soldier of the party fully committed to bringing it back to power, he said the situation in the State was taken to the notice of the AICC leadership, but no corrective action was taken so far. Taking a dig at the leadership for nominating K R Suresh Reddy, former speaker (who joined TRS last week) to different panels, he said the leaders should be aware of at least those who are continuing in the party and who is not.

He said he was not after any posts. But the party should not pay the price because of the failure of the State leaders. Addressing a meeting at Munugodu town on Thursday, he had launched a tirade against R C Kuntia. He pointed out that leaders who cannot win even as ward members in gram panchayat election were nominated to important panels constituted by the AICC to fight the polls in the State.
